Saudi warplanes target Yemen’s Defense Ministry building in Sana’a

Saudi warplanes have conducted airstrikes on Yemen’s Defense Ministry and a nearby residential building in the capital Sana’a, local sources say.

Media, citing local sources, reported that the ministry’s building sustained damage in the late Friday raid, while another airstrike carried out shortly afterwards against 12 houses left at least eight people wounded.

It added that the number of casualties would likely rise due to the magnitude of the destruction.

Separately, The United Nations children’s agency has warned that Yemen’s stocks of fuel and vaccines will run out within a month unless the invading military coalition, led by Saudi Arabia, lifts its blockade on the western port of Hudaydah and the international airport in the capital Sana’a.

UNICEF Resident Representative in Yemen Meritxell Relano, speaking by phone to reporters in Geneva, sounded the alarm on Friday, adding that stocks of fuel would last until the end of November and stocks of vaccines would run out in just one month.
